Change saves location

I have some problem trying to change the save location. I want my saves game to be on my USB Key.
What I did is to change both savefile_directory and savestate_directory in file /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg
I changed the line savefile_directory and savestate_directory to look like this
savefile_directory = /media/pistick/retropie/saves
savestate_directory = /media/pistick/retropie/saves
but saves does not work.
If I do cd /media/pistick/retropie/saves, it bring me inside the folder I created, but if I do ls inside this folder, the folder is empty.
What can I do now ?

Ok according to a post I've found, apparently I need to put both in /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg and /opt/retropie/configs/snes/retroarch.cfg
but I still have the problem. Do I really need to add it inside each retroarch.cfg emulator ?
