Mapping 3DO (Phoenix v2.8 emulator) to launch in Retropie Ubuntu?

I would like to map 3DO (Phoenix v2.8 emulator) to launch in Retropie Ubuntu similar to the way Dolphin emulator is mapped. Is this possible making some minor changes to some xml files?
Ubuntu v 16.04 x64
Retropie v4.3 Ubuntu -
Have you tried installing the
lr-3do
emulator from the experimental section - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/3do/ ? -
lr-3do emulation is not that good compared to Pheonix which seems near perfect. Since Pheonix works so good Id like a way to launch it via the retropie guide.

Thanks.
I just found out on the emulators forum which is in Russian that as of April 2017 the author had no plans to incorporated command-line launching of game image (iso) files. This means you can only launch 3DO games with Pheonix v2.8 via the GUI unless he decides to update the emulator to support it. He said it was a lot of work in his post. Its too bad because the emulator is the best one for 3do.
lr-4do has lots of bugs and many games are not worth playing IMO.
