      I have a 5V fan the I was going to hook up to the Pi with through the GPIO pins but will this effect the Pi in anyway and if I did hook the fan up will it do any good, I don't have a case was thinking of making a DIY wood case for it, any suggestions

        I got a small 5V fan and while a heatsink alone did minimal to help the temps, heatsink and fan together is pretty damn good. Idling at about 36C instead of 56C or so. Almost never go over 53C unless I'm compiling something large.
