I have a six button genesis style hyperkin controller I got off eBay connected via USB port on my raspberry pi 3 on the latest version of retropie

At the configure input screen, it says 2 GAMEPADS DETECTED which makes sense. I got the Xbox 360 controller as well as the hyperkin connected.

But when I hold a button down on the hyperkin, nothing happens on screen.

Please help me figure out why this is, anyone :(

Is the controller compatible with Linux ? The only genesis style hyperkin controller on the vendor page says it's compatible with any 'Genesis' system, but doesn't list any other.

Try running jstest to test if the buttons on the controller register in the system - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/RetroArch-Configuration/#determining-button-values.
