I have trouble running the Metal Gear Solid - Special Missions CD on the RaspberryPi3, under the RetroPie version 4.3.5, I am using the BIOS "SCPH7502.bin", I created a .m3u file and listed in it the .cue files (renamed to .CD1 for the Special Mission and .CD2 for the MGS (Disc 2 )file). The .cue Files list the corresponding .bin Filename but every time I try to change the Disc via Core Disk Options > Disk Image Append it is telling me that I use the wrong Disc. Does anyone has a clue or a setup to get it to work? I own the both these old games but my PSone is sadly dead and I really would like to experience them again.

I tried the same thing as you, creating two disc images from the games, then tried to swap discs after booting and got the same error. The only way around it I found was to get a .PBP (The format used for PSX to PSP games) copy of special missions, this loaded straight away with no disc swapping hassle.

Did Konami release a bundled Metal Gear Solid + Special missions combo package? Because Special missions is a single disc game right?
I used an eboot of VR missions (ntsc) , but the game always froze on the first socom mission. Now I just use a bin cue file of VR missions and everything works ok.

@bobharris I just used the 3 Names for this game there is no Bundle as far as I know BUT you have to own MGS and you have to insert one of these 2 Discs to start Special Missions

@elfricko That's odd, because my version of VR missions does not require the MGS disc. (I stay away from all PAL games so I have no experience with Special missions.)

@elfricko No, but it's from a very well known site so you shouldn't have any problems finding it.
                  I think it's called SLUS-00957, but I'm not 100% sure..I got the game a long time ago.
