Just got the Nespi case for my niece, building a retro gaming system for Xmas, and such a nice case I grabbed one for myself as well.

Was looking online today for some information and well, got a bit lost, hoping you guys may be able to help.

Seen a lot of videos about the shutdown/restart button, but mainly they keep saying the reset button, so, not sure if the 'fix' is specifically for the reset? or both? I know a script would be needed for shutdown, and the videos I seen seem to say press the reset, it safely shuts down, press the reset again and turns it back on.

Does the shutdown button work without the mod and just a script? I just want a shut down/off button, not two of them.

Next question is, if I need to do the mod with soldering parts on... which mod is recommended? The ETA Prime one looks good, but also read that for some reason, it doesn't always work for people. Seen a few mods with bypasses and some with capacitors added as well.

Basically... when I am done playing, I want to press a button, and have the Pi safely shut off.

My Pi shipped today (luckily because seller just ran out of stock too). I have my nieces here but, not running yet. Looking for info so when mine comes I can tinker with it and if works then will mod hers.
