Using old hardware with Pi-3 to make a handheld console
-
Hello!
I'm new to the forums, but I have read the rules and used the search bar, but didn't find what I was searching for:
I'd like to use this small Microboy console with a Pi-3b to make a handheld console to use with retropie.

This little console runs small cartridges of 8 and 16 bits games, was bought in Argentina like 10 years ago, it's like the old Family Game chinese console. It comes with RCA cables to plug it into the TV.
What I want to do is to use the keys, sound, buttons and screen with the RPi, plus a 5v 2,5A battery. I can print a custom case for it.
I'm looking for any information or knowledge you can share so this project can stop being only a thought. Will be using:
Latest retropie version.
Raspberry Pi 3 model B
Power Supply used: 5.1V 2.5A
Emulators: all that can be run in a RPi 3
USB Devices connected: noneThanks in advance!

Well just off the top of my head you might be able to use the buttons, Prolly not the sound or screen though. You will have to get a waveshare screen of about the same size and hack it in there. I got mine dirt cheap from bangood and have had no issues with it. If you can find a datasheet on that board other things might be possible. No telling with a very old Chinese gameboy micro clone.

Thanks for the reply!
I forgot to say that the console has the CPU in each cartridge, and was produced by OneStation.
If I get to know wich pins uses the display I may use the entire board to get it working.
Buying a new display is not an option right now, but I'll keep the suggestion.
