@retroprogrammer @RichardBr so many Sly Spy fans! :) I'm overjoyed!
@DD-Indeed question: why Metal Slug X on the PS1 instead of on FBA? Any specific reason? Just curious. I love the game on the arcade.
-
Why bother putting another emulator for it, when it can be played alongside other PS1 titles I have ? :) Doesn't really matter, as it it 2D sprited game anyway.
-
@dd-indeed that's fair, it was an honest question as it could be that it had any particularly different modes, performed better, etc.
Thanks!
-
@pjft Me too. Also because this is where Metal slug 1-6 are at as well.
I even have Metal slug 7 (XX) running and looking awesome on the ppsspp emulator. -

80's gamer here, so they pre-date NES....
- M.U.L.E. (C-64 version) - imo, best game design of all time, I think Ozark software play tested this so much that I've never heard or found any bugs, damn near perfect. Not to mention one of the most "reactive" computer A.I.'s determined to make your experience different every time. Don't waste time with the NES version unless you like it watered down, C-64 was best in terms of replay (random playfield EVERY time it loaded), Atari 400/800 was extremely good also for the 4 player input options (but only around 256 different preprogrammed fields, could be somewhat unfair playing against vets). After 30+ years, I still play this game.....
- Seven Cities of Gold (C-64) - once again, Ozark programming at it's finest. Probably one of the first games ever in which you choose peaceful or warlike interaction with the A.I....
- Time Pilot (Mame) - fast shooter fix for burning off caffeine grind....
- Tempest (Mame) - see #3
- Crazy Climber (Mame) - well....I was hooked on it for a bit after buying a controller with analog sticks, but now I'm pissed at it...the A.I. on this arcade machine was just plain wrong....designed to be harder depending on the last few scores, with a cooldown period until it went back to somewhat "normal" difficulty...if you get past first level in one life, it's determined NOT to let you past the next one....almost broke my controller....
-
I forgot this in my post, but I was so amazed that I got some of the commodore 64 stuff to work, I've been stuck on it for while...I actually got some RPG's that span disks to work, which really impressed me with pi. so replace #5 with "any C-64 RPG that loads." lol
-
Added one more for good measure. It is difficult to narrow it down to 5.
- Sonic CD (Sega CD)
- Streets of Rage (Gen)
- Road Rash (PSX)
- Mega Man 1 through 6 (NES)
- Super Castlevania IV (SNES)
- Castlevania Bloodlines (Gen)
-
I built a two player arcade cab, so the most fun I'm having is playing with a buddy, while drinking haha. Most played games are probably:
- Mario Kart 64
- The battle mode inside the mario all stars version of Super Mario 3 on SNES - seriously great fun
- Super Contra
- Raiden Trad
- Xmen
-
Gorf (Mame)
Manic Miner (Speccy)
Super Mario 64 (N64 or NDS Version)
Robotron (Mame)
Delta (C64)and about 2000 others..lol
