Ok so I have been playing around with the custom lists. I made some based on genre. But the "logo" is just text and looks tacky. So I hashed together a "rpg theme" to work with the carbon theme. I added the list to my es_systems.cfg file. Works fine looks okay (for a quick ten minute mock up / test run..I am NOT a graphics designer by any means! o.0)

But i was wondering what is the best way to implement genre based logos? And am I crazy for even trying this? Yes I know you can group them into "collections" but I figured what the hey. Honestly I would like to group the systems together and list the genres. (and by player)

To create "genre" grouped roms, I'd duplicate an existing system (e.g. Arcade), rename it to the "genre" you like, replace system logos and place the roms in a dedicated folders.
Edit runcommand for the different roms accordingly.
Sure there are more clever ways to do that but this is quite easy and quick.
