@megatimx said in Could not successfully build ppsspp:

I tried following the advice on https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/8344/ppsspp-build-fails-on-x86_64-ubuntu

As indicated in the topic, can you provide the build logs with the errors ? There should the a log file in the ~/RetroPie-Setup/tmp where the error during compilation should be shown.

What happens you use the 2nd link - installing PPSSPP from the Ubuntu repositories ? It should be installed in the system, so you can at least try running it outside ES.

I made retropie ppsspp module work on the Odroid xu4 some time ago. Since then the Odroid images have been updated, and it's quite possible it's broken either due to that or upstream ppsspp changes. Unfortunately there has been no-one else actively maintaining the codebase for the xu4, so it's down to me to test as and when I can. I will take a look at this as time permits in the near future.

RetroPie on the XU4 should be considered somewhat experimental. RetroPie is primarily developed and tested on the RPI (and my PC running Ubuntu).

@mitu Here's the log file. It looks like gibberish to me. http://www.filedropper.com/rps2017-12-07165228log
I'll try running PPSSPP outside of ES now.

@buzz I appreciate your work. I am just trying to get this thing as fully operational as I can since I am selling it, and I have six days left. I think I've put so much work into it at this point I am just determined to do what I can to get this one system running smoothly.

@megatimx You are in breach of the licences - you can't include RetroPie with the sale - https://retropie.org.uk/about/legal/

The image we provide is Raspbian Lite with RetroPie pre-installed. Much of the software included in the RetroPie image have non-commercial licences. Because of this selling a pre-installed RetroPie image is not legal – this includes “giving away” a pre-installed RetroPie with your commercial product. Including copyrighted games with RetroPie is also not allowed.

If you are selling hardware that supports RetroPie you should provide a link to our site for your customers rather than including a RetroPie image with your product.

@buzz well, there goes that. I'll uninstall it and figure something else out. I just see a lot of people doing it so I didn't know it wasn't okay.

@megatimx I cannot open the file - but I think your best bet is to try with the repository package. If it works, then you can add the system manually in ES.
