Arcade game service mode settings
-
Lets say I have started an Arcade game. I have clicked on the appropriate button combination to get the "Service mode" of that particular arcade game to come up. I make changes, for example I change it from insert quarters to Free Play, then I exit. In Retropie / Emulationstation, where are those particular setting saved? what config file should those "service mode" changed features be save in?
Thanks

I don't think there's a config file that gets written, but a NVRAM (binary) file.
For lr-mame2003, there should be either a .nv file (with the rom name prefix) side by side with the ROM zip file or in the /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/mame2003/nvram/
folder (see: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/lr-mame2003). -
that's pretty much exactly what I was looking to know. thx
Do you think if I copied the game and the .nv file over to another Raspberry Pi with a new installation of Retropie that potentially those "service mode" setting would carry over, correct?

Yes.
