Adding a GUI for mupen64plus to configure controller like Retroarch allows.
-
Pi Model or other hardware: (3b)
Power Supply used: 5V 2.5 A
RetroPie Version Used: 4.3.8
Built From: Pre made SD Image... "NOOBS" (I think)
USB Devices connected: ROCKSOUL wired keyboard
Controller used: Xbox 360 initially, now 8bitdo NES30
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable) Emulation Station V2.7.4RP, N64 emulator (mupen64plus)It's been a while since I first set up my Retropie so some of the initial details I am unsure of. I am trying to configure controls for the N64 emulator because I think it may have been auto setup with my Xbox 360 controller on initial setup and now no inputs from my 8bitdo NES30 work for that emulator. I was wondering if there is a way to install a GUI so that the controller can be configured on screen like it can for the Retroarch input or the emulation station where it says a button and you press the correlating button on your controller and it binds to those keys. (I also need this for the Intellivision emulator as I cannot figure out how to manually map buttons.)
Once in the N64 emulator the only thing I seem to be able to do is exit back out to the home page. The only keyboard buttons that respond are the function keys (F12 exits the emulator) On my 8bitdo controller the only thing recognized is holding select and pressing start to exit emulation. So it appears the peripherals are working, I just need to figure out how to assign the other buttons on my controller/keyboard to work in game. If someone knows how to install some sort of GUI for this process or if they could, step by step, walk me through the file locations and necessary cfg. files to edit and also what to edit the values to it would be most appreciative.
-thanksKEY NOTES
I know how to SSH into my pi and know where most of the cfg files are for the emulators
I am VERY unfamiliar with Linux, the command line, or terminal.
I don't know what the decimal value is for keyboard strokes (such as 'space' is key 32)
If someone is willing to video chat or skype with me to help set this up I will PayPal them $15
