Emulator audio low. How to increase?
-
I've noticed a big difference in the ES and retroarch emulator volume. I can increase the volume by going into the Retroarch menu Settings/Audio where there's an option a few down that lets me increase the in game audio (the option itself ranges from -120 to +12, and I find at least 10 to get close to the expected volume.)
How can I set this option tp +10 permanently across all emulators?

You hit start in emulationstation and turned the volume up in correct? Default is 77%

check the audio settings under the retropie menu in emulation station and you can increase overall system volume (may need to use a keyboard to exit it), and then you can decrease the ES volume if it is too loud.

I remember seeing a line in a cfg file somewhere regarding volume. Not sure if it was a system wide cfg or a specific emulator. Sorry, can't look for it at the moment.

I've tried increasing the volume in ES, in the Retropie setup script, and I've also enabled hdmi_boost = 2 in the /boot/config.txt (this was the reason a family members Retropie install was giving no audio so I thought I'd enable it too just in case having it off contributed in any way.)
Increasing the ES sound helped but made ES's menu noises far too loud also so I've disabled these. If I could get them to be of a similar volume to the games then I'd keep them but this solution is fine.

This topic is at least two years old and retropie has still the same issue. Yes I incremented the volume from standard 77 to 100 and nothing changes.
Could someone fix this? -
@ferhound Audio is fine. You do not describe your problem. You should open your own thread and follow the guidance in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
