      Hey again everyone...
another basic question from a new to retropie user.
In trying to ramp up on things, I'm trying to mod out some parts of the themes (as well as learn as i go).

Almost all of the online posts and tutorials i see call for accessing /etc/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg and /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/themes

I'm using WinSCP to access the pi, but I don't see either file or folder. Even using a broad *.cfg search, it doesn't come up. Hidden files are shown as well.

Does this mean I don't have access to these or does it mean that RP3.7 has different locations/names?
If it's access, how do I go about setting permissions?

Another question (albeit very basic) is that when people post "/etc"... is this an actual folder or is this just forum lingo for everything in the file path leading to that directory? I don't see /etc either so I'm stumped there too.

Thanks for any info. It's much appreciated.

generic linux file structure --> http://tldp.org/LDP/intro-linux/html/images/FS-layout.png

When you access retropie using winscp, you logon to /home/pi...

...so, answering your question, "ect" and "opt" are actual folders...

Checkout the Filemanager in the retropie "system" on emulationstation to get a better idea of the file structure (It's like the old Norton commander...)

This may help get to grips with the filesystem

Please read the Docs before asking a new question.
