I am trying to follow the instructions found here: https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Manual-Installation/

I was able to successfully change all of my Locale settings to match the instructions except for LANGUAGE. When I set it to "en_US:en", and reboot, I get a blank screen with a slowly blinking cursor rather than the PIXEL desktop. Neither the mouse or keyboard seem to work.

I have tried changing each setting individually and rebooting each time to test which setting causes the issue.

Is "en_US:en" the correct setting? Is this necessary to manually install retropie in Raspbian?

Nevermind. It looks like I'm on Stretch, not Jessie. I guess I'll have to re-install Raspbian yet again...
