Playstation memorycard
-
Well i know There is save state opinnion but when you play something like final fantasy where does it save, when you use save slot in the game? Or is it just wasting of Time to use that If its removed afternoon retropie boot?
So where is the memorycard IS it just file on some folder? Or how does that work? And can i use it same memorycard file in pcs emulating like if i play same game on pc's is it compactivle? -
@hospoti It saves in the same folder where the game is located.
-
It saves it as a .srm file in the psx roms folder with the same name of the game (for example: Twisted Metal III (USA) (v1.1).srm)
You can use MemcardRex on your PC to convert that save to another format if needed, or change a downloaded save game to .srm so you can use that on your Pi
Also if you play a multi-disc game, it is recommended that you combine all the discs into a single .pbp file to make disc swapping easier. You can do that using this or some places host them already converted (called something like "PSX on PSP ISOs")

@madmodder123 LOL thanks alot 😂😂😂 i changed disc 1 to disc 2 and i didnt have no idea how its going to work but i made it There is a disk change menu at emulator
-
@bobharris yes ok i must convert to pc or does .srm work on pc emus?
-
@hospoti Don't know, never tried it.
-
@hospoti Not sure I haven't used a PSX emu on PC for a long time now.. Anyways the process to convert it is really quick
-
@hospoti I forgot to mention, when downloaded saves from the internet and converting it to be able to be used on the pi, you save the save file as a .mcr and then rename it to .srm and then transfer it to the Pi
