Map buttons to device instead of player

Hello, I have a RPi B+ and I have two controllers. The main controller is the arcade control panel hooked up with an iPac and the second is a Ps3 controller via BT.
I set it up so that when you run a game, it automatically sets the arcade as P1 and the ps3 as P2. Sometimes, I want to use the Ps3 controller for P1 so I have two config files that I can load on the fly that make that happen.Now I am trying to remap the buttons for each emulator but when I do that, it maps it to player1 or player2. Is there a way to remap the keys to the specific device instead of the player?
Sometimes the Ps3 controller is P1 and sometimes its P2.
