Update Kodi 17.6 possible / available ?

Re: 17.4 kodi upgrade possible?
Hi,
Kodi 17.6 was released on Nov 15th.
https://kodi.tv/article/kodi-v176-final-very-lastIn RetroPie I run all the update scripts and I am 4.3.8 already. Nevertheless Kodi is still on 17.4.
Since I am quite new to the Rasperry since a few weeks, I am not yet sure how everything works together.
Is there something that needs to be done from RetroPie team or Kodi team or any other repo provider to make the 17.6 available?I am also thinking about dual boot between libreElec and RetroPie so I can update them individually.
Do you see any downsides in here? Thanks for your support,
Cheers

You can compile the latest version of Kodi yourself and use it on RetroPie if you aren't scared of the command line:
https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master/docs/README.raspberrypi -
Compiling Kodi is not easy, especially compiling it with all the bells and whistles, optimized for the Pi like the current available builds on RetroPie and there is currently some problems compiling Kodi higher than 17.4 in Raspbian Jessie, like explained here:
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/15284/raspbian-stretch-lite/9
The diferences between 17.4 and 17.6 are minimal, so my advice is for you to wait a little bit until we figure it out or RetroPie is updated to Raspbian Stretch. -

I use a separate distro for Kodi on the Pi, but have always admired your attention and dedication to delivering a well-rounded Kodi experience to RetroPie. It can't be easy. Thanks for all your work.

hello im trying to update to 17.6 im using
[..]and i decided to get the repo iptv source code but it's not working correctly so im wondering if theres a way to put in the correct kodi instead of what you download from the binary download? -
@bmills33179 Just like links to ROM sites are not allowed in the forum, please don't post links to pirate add-ons for Kodi.
