NES classic and SNES Classic svg logos?
-
Hey everyone,
I've searched high and low for SVG files of the NES Classic and SNES Classic - which I would like to add as a separate system.
I've attempted to make my own using Illustrator (going through various tutorials), but the logos don't seem to work with EmulationStation (either showing up as a blank logo or not loading at all - only showing text).
So, rather than spend more time trying to figure out why the logos aren't loading properly, I thought I would ask to see if anyone has a finished one that works.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Yeah this is a common thing due to the svg libraries in ES. There was a thread a while back that talked a bit about the stipulations for creating svgs for ES (don't have the link off the top of my head), I used inkscape for some of mine and had to convert strokes to paths or something or other. @UDb23 may have some tips

Emulation Station uses nanoSVG library to render these files. It provides compatibility for many SVG functions but not all. As @herb_fargus mentioned it does not support "strokes" so everything has to be converted to "paths" in the final SVG file.
Text also is not supported as far as I know so any text created with fonts should be converted to "path" too. Blurring is also not supported.
Size and other "global settings" of the SVG file can also impact correct display in ES so I'd suggest you use an existing ES SVG file as "template" when you create your customized ones. You can find some sample custom logos and discussion about SVGs for ES in this thread.

Similar request for NES and SNES classic logos for ES already came up in the past and was solved. Check here.

Thanks for all the info, @herb_fargus and @UDb23 !
Sorry for creating a new topic when an older thread was available. For some reason it didn't appear in any of my searches.
The older thread did have the SNES Classic svg that was linked - and it worked perfectly. However, I didn't want to use the EU version of the NES Classic (also linked), so after some trial-and-error I was able to modify the US version - which I will be sure to share on that thread.

Im not super impressed with the forum search function, I'll generally just use Google to find forum posts. Glad to hear you got it sorted though

It's awful! I've tried it more than a few times. In the end I just use Google and add
retropie org
at the end and it's usualy found.
The internal search is poor, at best. -
@jonnykesh "site:" is google's function to restrict results to a specific site.
And yes Google works great to search the forums, especially with multiple terms. There are also other interesting google functions to refine searches.
