Retropie 3.7 and installing kodi.

Hey guys new pie guy here. I have everything working amazing thanks to the many posts I've found on here helping with lag issues updating to 4.4 kernel and all.
My question is I am attempting to install kodi from the experimental section and I am having no luck. It seems like it may hang on getting something and then all of a sudden the install in complete. After the reboot I try to run kodi and it tries to open then it just goes back to the ports section. I've tried 3 times with no luck. Are the servers for the download down? Or am I doing something wrong.

try to disconnect all your game pads, leave only a keyboard and mouse and then start kodi.
