I've got a Pi3 cabinet build that I have been tweaking for the last month or so to get "just right". One thing that has completely confounded me however, is finding a good solution for external headphone jack (that cuts out speakers) with an external volume control.

I've tried a couple enclosed mini-amps with HP jacks. Some of them don't cut off the speakers when you plug in phones. Others, do cut out, but have a mechanical detect which prevents me from extending the port to the front panel.

I've also looked at boards, but they seem to either be headphone or speaker amps and not both. I could obviously run two boards and two knobs as an option, but that seems inelegant.

While I'm not afraid of simple soldering, I'm no EE and not really stoked on figuring out how to mesh a speaker and headphone board into one thing that solves this need... in part because I'm planning to build several cabinets.

I figured I'd find the answer in 5 minutes looking at different build tutorials or parts lists, but after a couple of hours, I was surprised that this wasn't a common thing people did in their builds.

      Any suggestions appreciated.
