Gene Rally (the PC game) on Retropie #DosBox
-
Hi,
I love Gene Rally ! This is a freeware game like Super Sprint.
I tried to put in my Retropie in DosBox but it won't work...
Someone can help/explain to me ?
Is it possible to make it work in Retropie ?Here is the link to Gene Rally:
http://gene-rally.com/I have the last version of retropie on my Raspberry Pi 3 B.

@brunoboiss Gene Rally appears to be a Windows game. From the website:
You can play almost anywhere that supports Windows XP or later.

OK...
So no hope for me ... ?
Is there another solution to run this game on my arcade stick i've made ? (Raspberry pi 3 with buttons and sticks on gpio)
Because this is a little game, i hope it be ok to launch it in dosbox or another PC emulation even if it's not really windows. And can i install some minimal windows xp in dosbox ... then run Gene Rally ?
Me ? Insisting ? 😅
This game is soooo good, that i.m looking to play with friends on big TV with 6 controllers ... -
@brunoboiss Windows versions 3.x, 95 and 98 can be installed in DOSBox as they were built on top of DOS whereas Windows XP was built on the NT kernel.
The only possibility would be to try using an WINE application such as ExaGear. This application isn't free but there is a trial edition available.

Thank you very much for your answer.
Perhaps i'll try Exagear, but i read that it's impossible to run game in full screen ...
Well, if it run perfectly, i'll back here and report this.
Why ?
Because i think Gene Rally is a "must have" of multiplayers game. -
@dudleydes windows 95 is hard as hell to get working at all on the pi and games are slow as crap and virtual drive doesnt work. Dont think 98 can run at all on the pi.
