New overlay: P-47 The Freedom Fighter
-
Another old classic by Jaleco.
This is the original game of 1988, not to be confused with its successor P47 aces (1995).Complete scans of original marquee and bezel are really rare and damaged. No clean & restored full version existed so far; not available in any arcade print e-shop or as overlay for emulators.
That and the fact that the artwork is really nice moved me into this challenge.Initial scan came from Arcadeartwork.org; unfortunately quite damaged and cropped.
Special thanks to Mr Do for providing additional (complete) original source high res scans.
Restoration, everything has been vectorized and fixed, took several hours, over multiple weekends, but it was worth the effort I believe.

You can find this and more hand crafted quality overlays in the rpie-ovl repository.
And if you want an easy way to install them, @meleu created a great dedicated script.
Perform these commands on your RetroPie:cd git clone --depth 1 https://github.com/meleu/rpie-art cd rpie-art ./rpie-art.sh
After launching
rpie-art.sh
script you just have to follow the instructions in the dialog boxes. Once you have therpie-art.sh
