Like the title says, really. I have successfully added the two games I own that haven't been remastered yet (Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis and Sam And Max Hit The Road), and I've set standard graphics to OpenGL so I don't really need the GUI for anything any more. Now, I really want to hide the GUI so the list just shows the two actual games, and the top menu shows 2 instead of an incorrect 3 games available.

I tried deleting it through the start menu sjnce I read somewhere that this shouldn't actually delete stuff but just hide it, but that didn't work as it actually removed stuff and made the games unplayable. So I'm looking for a way that makes the GUI not show up on the game list any more, without deleting any of its files.

@billyh One way of doing it would be to create a gamelist.xml file for ScummVM, for example, from scraping metadata and then editing the gamelist.xml file to remove any entry for +Start ScummVM.sh.

In the ES menu, in Other Settings, set Parse Gamelists Only to ON. When you restart ES, the+ Start ScummVM entry should've gone.

If you want to restore the +Start ScummVM.sh entry, if you want to add more games, for example, then you can set Parse Gamelists Only back to OFF and restart ES.

A few words of warning if you choose to use this method, you will need gamelist.xml files for other systems for them to appear in ES. Games can appear in ES even if they have been deleted from the Pi if there is still an entry in the relevant gamelist.xml file.

Also, if you add games at later date, then they won't appear in ES unless you set Parse Gamelists Only back to OFF or add the game to the gamelist.xml file.

Or you can just rename +Start ScummVM.sh in your scummvm rom folder to +Start ScummVM.s. Wth that you don't need a gamelist.xml and still can easily restore it if you need it. Although I'm sure, whenever you update ScummVM it will be restored.
Or if you sure you never need it again, you can just delete it.

Okay, so, old topic, but I never figured out how to rename stuff. I'm trying to do so through the file manager but I can't get that thing to do anything. I see a list of numbers at the bottom like edit and remove but I can't seem to do anything at all while in there.

@BillyH I once wrote a small script Midnight Joy to make Midnight Commander usable with Joypads. Renaming does od course not work (without keyboard) but file remove and file copy does work of course. Maybe this will help you.

So numbers are F-key functions F5 copy files, F6 moves or rename files.... F8 deletes .... Usage of mc

I just found a much easier solution :-)

Apparently in the options menu inside a console list, you can put a game to "hidden". After that, at "filter game list" the hidden option should be set to false. Worked like a charm, no renaming necessary :-D
