      Hello,

I have installed RetroPie and got to the first welcome screen where you can select your gamepad.

I click on F4 on my keyboard so I quit this setup because I don't have any gamepad on this moment, I am gonna build a mini Arcade so I don't really need any gamepad.

But when I press F4 to quit the setup I get into this screen:

      alt text

Maybe a stupid question but how to get further?

I want to setup the Wifi and get some roms on the SD card but how do I get into the GUI of RetroPie where I can further do some setup?

      Kind regards,

      Arie

@arie You're now seeing the command line, since you exited Emulationstation there's no program running so you're free to execute the commands you want.
To run the RetroPie setup script, execute

        sudo ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh

You can navigate the emulationstation with the keyboard. For the other questions - please see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Transferring-Roms/

@arie And to get back to Emulation Station after the setup, use the command

          exit

@arie first, if you don’t want to use a controller, you should set up the keyboard as a controller. Second, load games into the arcade folder. Reboot emulation station and the roms should show up. I think when you launch a rom it will ask you what emulator you want for the default for arcade. Select mame2003 And you should be good to go. The only issue I see is that I think mame2003 also configures keyboard inputs separately from the controller inputs. So you might have trouble controlling the games.

I don't think it asks. It just uses lr-mame2003. You can obviously change that, but you have to press a key during launch to invoke Runcommand options.

I recently migrated my roms from roms/mame-libretro to roms/arcade and the next time I launched a rom it asked me what emulator should be set as standard.

@clyde Nice! I guess I have migrated roms and settings with each update so I don't always see these details. I don't remember it asking me my first time, but this was several versions back.

@caver01 Well it was a lucky coincidence that I did the migration shortly after I read this thread. I wouldn't have done that only out of curiosity. :)
