      Is there a possibility to strip meta data from downloaded mp4 video files? Some of the scraped videos have meta data which lead to not playable files. I have to find all of them myself and reencode, because I did not found a easy way to do it on Linux, let alone automate it.

        It's not the metadata that makes them unplayable, but the video codec settings used in creating the video. @hiulit posted a handy script some time ago for this - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/15764/script-retropie-convert-videos
