My neighbor was having a yard sale over the weekend and I bought a 27" Toshiba CRT TV for $5. I had been somewhat in the market for one so that I could play duck hunt for the Nintendo. Which I don't own, but now I can. :) So after @Loggahead posted his write-up on his Robotron arcade, I had the idea that I could build an arcade-themed TV stand with a lighted marquee on top, 2 player controls and a Raspberry pi up front and some drawers to hold the Nintendo and other stuff. Oh, and paint the TV to match whatever arcade theme I decide upon. Let me know what your thoughts are. The picture isn't to scale, just a rough idea.

If you are set on using a big CRT. You gotta make the cabinet very strong. I'd suggest 3/4 MDF or Pine hardboard.
