Just burned Retropie 4.4 to sd. Booted up fine on Raspberry Pi 3B+. Configured Keyboard, Wifi (country and local Wifi). Dumped a game into Atari2600. Went to install stand alone Stella and only "install from Source" is an option. When I choose it I get an error (see below). I noticed most other Optional packages have no Install from Binary and give similar error.

From the Stella package source, there is no binary install available anyway, but the install from source gives an error after the download. Hm, could be that the hosting site changed something in the meantime.
EDIT: I think it's because the SSL (HTTPS) certificate for the download site (files.retropie.org.uk) has expired about 2 hours ago and the download function refuses the download. I'm sure it will be restored soon.

I thought I remember there being an "install from binary" option in previous RP versions so I thought that was the issue.

Thanks, but even trying other optional packages (advmame - 1.4, etc.) there are no binary options and I get a similar error.

You're remembering right. Stella has had binary installs available. Same goes for advmame. It looks like some of the optional installs just haven't been added since the move to Stretch.

@mediamogul I think the option does not show up because the binary option is enabled with an online check - directly when opening the module - and since the online connection fails, the binary install option disappears. It's not because of the 4.4 update.
Once @buzz will update the Letsencrypt certificate for the download site, it will work again.

                  Ah, that makes sense.

                  No rest for the wicked.

I haven't had time to update to Stretch myself. I'm hoping to get at it next weekend.

@mitu should be ok now. For some reason the webserver wasn't restarted after the cert updates which did happen. I need to look into the cause.
