Dual Wireless Gamesir G3s and RetroPie/ES/RetroArch

Hey guys
Doing some searching I see the wireless Gamesir G3s controllers do not work well with Bluetooth and works better using the USB dongle and setting up with R1 + X + Home, is that still the case these days ?
From what I reading it seems that a single USB dongle cannot pair more than one controller at a time so if I was to get two controllers will they pair to each of their USB dongles respectively or will there be some confusion trying to connect to each other, would the plan be to configure them one by one having only one USB dongle it in at a time during pairing/configuration then plug them both in when finished?
I use a Nespi case that is technically a USB hub, I wonder if that will give me a different outcome then plugging into the Pi USB ports directly
