I see that there are methods to record video (and stream to Twitch) from RetroPie – namely this guide from Mark Mruss.

Things have changed since that guide was written in 2016. Raspbian Stretch now includes ffmpeg. The Raspberry Pi 3 Model B hardware has been released, making this kind of feature plausible for many more use cases.

What would be cool is a straightforward and easy menu in RetroPie where you can simply enable video recording as well as streaming to Twitch. Even if the UI is less than perfect, like a version of Mark's implementation, such as:

While the game is loading hit the ‘A’ button to enter the configuration and select ‘Select emulator for rom’. There you will see the new ‘lr-fceumm-record-twitch’

That's about it. I would love to see easily-enabled gameplay recording and Twitch streaming, and I think that as the hardware platform becomes ever more capable it will become a more widely desired feature.
