How to use controller to swap disks for lr-vice?
-
I have lr-vice installed on my retropie (raspberry pi 3b) and it works great for games that only require a single disk. But I have not been able to figure out how to swap disks with a gamepad. It seems like I'm missing something simple. I am able to swap discs with lr-pcsx using an .m3u file but I have not been able to get the same to work with lr-vice. Has anyone had success with this?

I don't believe m3u files are supported in all cores. You may just have to switch disks through the RetroArch menu.

Where in the retroarch menu do I switch disks?
I've tried going to Disk Control. Disk Index is always null. I can use Disk Cycle Tray Status to eject the disk, and then Disk Image Append to select a new disk. But anytime I do that, once I select the disk it gives me a "suggested cores" menu with only one option: Vice x64. When I select that option, it reboots the C64 and runs it with load "*",8,1 again. So that doesn't at all with multidisk games, and I haven't found any other area in the menu to select a disk.
Also, a similar thing happens through the Vice menu. If I hit Start on my 8bitdo controller, it brings up the vice menu. I can hit select to control the mouse pointer, scroll down to the drive 8 field, select a different disk and after resuming it reboots the C64. I haven't found a way to swap disks without rebooting the emulated system.
(I just installed latest lr-vice from souce before writing this)

I use the standalone Vice emulator myself and while it's possible there, it could be that disk swapping isn't a feature that's been added to the libretro version yet. @edmaul69 has spent a lot of time it. Perhaps he can weigh in.

Hmm ok thanks.
After fiddling with it a while, I was able to get a good controller mapping in stand-alone vice.
