      Good day,

While playing Chrono Trigger using LR-SNES9X2010 I noticed that every time I enter combat, the screen stutters or jumps for a split second then returns to normal. This happens with the 2005 core as well. This issue does NOT occur when running the 2002 core, but the game colors are garbage and is not an enjoyable experience.

I do not know enough about the differences on these cores to diagnose what might be causing this. What I do know is that it happens every time I enter combat. I have only noticed it on Chrono Trigger, so I am assuming that it might be some sort of buffer or frame lag problem? No lightning bolt or any other indicators of a "system" problem.

Is anyone else having this problem or can anyone else replicate?

      system specs:
      Pi 3b+ board
      Canakit PS 5v 2.5a
      stretch 4.4 image from website
      LR-SNES9X2010, LR-SNES9X2005
      official PS3 controller (bluetooth connected)

      Thanks in advance.

If you hold your Pi out the window while driving 40+ mph, the performance is improved significantly.

      True story.

@endersenigma have you changed any 'input lag' related settings? are you using a shader?

please post the contents of /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch.cfg and /opt/retropie/configs/snes/retroarch.cfg

@dankcushions Sorry for the delay, I will post results tonight. But I will say that the only change that I have made to the stock image is enabled smoothing and set the aspect ration to 5:4. Neither of which affect the stutter.
