4 Player RetroPie Issues

Hello

Long Story Short; I have 4 working controllers; I have my sanwa arcade sticks working perfect [Player 1] [Player 2] See pic

I also have 2 wireless technology with 30-foot range fake X box clones; setup as player 3 and player 4

I can get all 4 working just fine;; if it's a 4 player game

The issue I have is sometimes I want my player 1 and player 2 to be the controllers and not the arcade sticks; It's a shared arcade and sometimes people want to use the controllers and not the arcade sticks for some games. I don't know how to default this without losing my controller defaults.

So if a friend wants to run the controller they can and the arcade sticks wouldn't be in use.

Can you map is so the player 3 and player 4 controller can also be the player 1 and player 2 arcade stick setup?

I'm sure there is like a config file to do this or set up defaults ect? Is anyone else doing this?

Is anyone using controllers and arcade sticks as player 1 and 2 on both or does it not work that way

@allenpie it sounds like the Joystick Selection Tool is for you.

you cannot assign both Controllers to player 1/2 simultanously but you can quickly swich between Joysticks via easy menu entry

@allenpie Install the Joystick Selection tool from the link provided and you'll have an extra menu entry in the RetroPie menu for you to configure the controller/player mapping.
