lr-mame2010 hotkey not working
-
Just a minor niggle, I'm using lr-mame2010 s I managed to get an arcade collection that somebody has done all the work for me I was eventually going to do, in that all arcade ROMs including NeoGeo and FBA and MAME have been reduced to the best of each ROM and all clones or non-working and games that may not be worth playing via RetroPie such as mahjong or 4-player and games that won't work without things like a spinner or proper lightgun have been removed,. So far everygame I've tried has worked flawlessly
Anyway, my only niggle is it MUST use lr-mame2010 which isn't an issue on a PI3 running a very stable overclock and a big heatsink with fan which never gets over about 45c, the hotkey doesn't work to return back to the main menu to choose another emulator. To quit back I HAVE to press the ESC key on a keyboard I also have attached to the PI3 which is set-up on OSMC KODI running RetroPie installed via RetroSMC. This works perfectly
I've tried resetting the control configurations loads of times via EmulationStation and deleting it directly via PUTTY with the same result. I've tried setting the default hotkey so that START+SELECT quits the game but it refuses to accept it
Reading, points to LR-MAME2010 maybe causing the issues with its own key config somewhere that has to be changed as well. The hotkey worked perfectly before I did a reinstall and set-up using LR-MAME2010
I'll see if I can find time to try LR-MAME2003 and see if the default hotkey works in that (it used to) but LR-MAME2010 is needed for the arcade set-up to work, which it finally does perfectly as I didn't like having duplicate ROMs or non-working and just didn't have the time to do it all myself, until I found the package somebody had done all the work for me
Thanks

hotkeys are a global setting that apply to all retroarch emulators. the only way you can end up in your situation is if:
- hot keys don't work globally (you set them up wrong to start with)
- you delete/mess with your mame2010 retroarch.cfg, so it overrides/ignores the global settings.

Manage to solve it, for some reason the default hotkey combination isn't working via LR-MAME2010 (or doesn't for me) so I went back and set a manual hotkey on the PS3 compatible joypad and it now works. The same joypad worked fine with the default hotkey config previously
