Manually adding updated lr-ppsspp repo?

Has there been an update to a question someone asked a few months ago? https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/issues/2317
Why not update the RetroPie LR-PPSSPP source to this updated version? The source is available and maintained by the creator of PPSSPP himself.
https://github.com/libretro/ppssppOr, can someone post the info on what to change in the .sh file to properly build from the new link?

It will likely require reworking of the RetroPie module script. It's still on my to-do list :-)
