      Hey, y'all.
So I have just about everything set up how I like it, Retropi running smoothly, 4 8bitdo gamepads so I can play with my kids, all my MAME games are running great. Except for one though, TMNT2. I just can't get it to run.
I'm using MAME 2003 .78 roms currently, since those seem to be the easiest and most stable to play with from what I could tell online. And the tmnt2 and tmnt2a files should work according to the compatibility list. I've tried rom sets from 3 different reliable sources, but they all run (or don't run) the same.
On the compatibility list it says the tmnt22p gets stuck in a ram check loop and plays upside down, which is exactly what's happening for my tmnt2 game. (I've only loaded the 4p versions of any games that have that option 'cause I've got a mess of kids, so I haven't even tried the 2p version.)
I saw a post from a couple years ago where a guy had the same problem, but I couldn't find a resolution.
And I have to admit, I haven't audited or verified them or whatever you call it, 'cause I can't find an app for the Mac that'll do that.
      I appreciate any help.
      Thanks!

@Corbidorbi I have 4p working with advmame1.4 (.106 romset). I just tried 2003 with my .78 romset and it also works ok. I am only using the parent rom though.

OK, so it might just be me then. I was using the parent tmnt2.zip as well (AFAIK), it's the darndest thing.

I'm real bad with computers usually though. Up until I started messing with this stuff I could barely get my printer connected. I'm sure it's some dumb little thing. I'll try a couple of other versions and see if that'll help.

I can confirm the TMNT & TMNT2 2player versions work as well.

Those versions simply allow 2 players to choose which character they want.

@Corbidorbi There is a dip switch setting for this game to flip the screen. Try pressing tab key when in game and see if you have a setting for that.
