Lunar Eternal Blue Epilogue change disk issue

Hello,
I’m on the epilogue of Lunar 2 on disk 3. There is a special item called the rememberizing crystal which will play cut scenes from the game. I’m trying to play a scene from disk 1. When I go to retroarch disc control options, I eject, append in disk 1, it asks for what core I want so I choose only option. Then it immediately loads up disk 1 to title screen with no way to watch the cut scene. Help?!
