Dpad on PS4 controller won’t work using GPSP
-
Hey everyone I have been stuck on this one or a while now. When configuring controles for gpsp using the ds4 controller it only recognizes the left analog stick for up down left right. I have brought up the in game menu using f10 to configure my controller. It recognizes every button on the ds4 except for the dpad. Any help on this would be appreciated. I would just use lr-mgba instead but that doesn’t recognize the a and b buttons on the controller and again won’t let me configure them in RetroArch. So I’m screwed both ways. Any thoughts ?

Try out lr-vba-next and lr-gpSP and also make sure your controller is properly paired to the system just so you know everything is really working.

@ecks it’s hard wired, and it works perfectly on all of the other systems, snes nes etc... when I tried the other gba emulators the dpad works fine, but then the A and B buttons are swapped when playing the game. Which is annoying I’m trying to set it up the same as it is on the nes. And another problem when using another gba emulator is that in RetroArch they don’t even work at all, I would be using them for confirm and cancel through out the various Menues but they don’t do anything. So if I am in RetroArch by hitting select and left shoulder I now can’t close it because the confirm and cancel buttons won’t work. So that’s where I’m at. Either dpad doesn’t work in gpsp or A and B don’t work properly in the other gba emulators.

What do you mean by swapped? By default on both lr-GPSP and lr-MGBA the default is A is the right button. B on xbox controller or circle on Playstation. And B is the bottom button. A on xbox or X on Playstation. Ive never had an issue with that swapped. Also if you don't like it, you can always reconfigure it in the retroarch menu.

@lostless i couldn’t swap them in the RetroArch menu because the confirm and cancel buttons on the controller wouldn’t work in RetroArch for some reason. So here is what I did and it worked perfectly. I downloaded retropie version 4.2 and re flashed the mini sd card. Now it works just fine. But thank you for your suggestions. Love this community.
