Wireless controller issues
-
First To start, this is just my feedback to what i consider an amazing Project, thanks to all involved...
Retropie 3.81 image release has issues for me with both xbox360 wireless and ps3 wireless controllers. Niether work for me with the out of box image download. Xbox360 driver apparently has issues without workarounds posted somewhere else in another thread (intermittantly works) and the ps3 drivers/blutooth seem not to work at all or hang the system.
Sure there are probably workarounds, but if its not working out of box with the provided image, I just can't invest more time troubleshooting. For this reason alone, I admittantly have stuck with Version 3.1 which has been rock solid.
I certainly would like to update to a newer release to benefit from the new emulation cores ... Just hoping to see some progress here. I also hope to see Xbox one wireless driver support added sometime soon, since xbox 360 controllers will eventually become absolete.
Any thoughts or Ideas? Is it just me? thanks for this great awesome project.

@mazjohn thing is we don't maintain the underlying kernels or OS, so when those things break there isn't much we can do to control that

I don't believe anyone has reported it to the raspberrypi/linux github yet either regarding xboxdrv. I have a 360 controller as of a few days, but I have not had a chance to test. When I do, I will report it but anyone else is free to do it in the meantime.

If the UPS guy will ever get here then I'll have a first party PS3 controller to test this with also. I collect retro controllers almost exclusively, so this will be hi-tech for me.

I'm on 3.8.1 and my PS3 controller is working via Bluetooth just fine. I should mention that it is a fresh install (I did not upgrade from a previous version).
Do you have a PS3? If you plug it in to that and turn it on with the PS button I think it resets itself. Then go to RetroPie setup and try to setup the controller again?
