Retropie-menu item : joystick-selection is missing
-
Hello,
I've installed yesterday the add-on joystick-selection to choose which joystick to map to which player. Very useful.
Perhaps the same could be done directly in retropie but cannot find a way.Anyway, my little concern is this : this tool add an item menu in the retropie-menu.
To perform this, it modify the gamelist.xml and create a symlink in the folder /home/pi/Retropie/retropiemenu which is :
/opt/retropie/supplementary/joystick-selection/joystick_selection.sh -> joystick_selection.shBut it failed to create this symlink.
I thinks it is because this retropiemenu folder is located on my external usb disk (as all the /home/pi folder), which is formated in FAT32 (as recommanded by this guide : Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive, and it seems linux cannot create a symlink on a Fat32 filesystem. Is there a mean to add this menu item, without this joystick_selection.sh in the retropiemenu directory ?

Stupid questio, but why don't you copy the script over, instead of using a symlink ? Since your ROMs folder is on another partition, it won't work anyway (regardless of filesystem).

honestly I don't know. I'm not an expert of retropie paths & bash locations.
I've just follow the installation process of this tool (which failed). You mean I can copy all the content of the /supplementary/joystick-selection folder in retropiemenu, or just the .sh ?
All others menu item are empty .rp file ? Can I make a similar thing for this tool ?
thanks

@cacrlhungus74 I meant just the script.

ok I have put the .sh in the retropie menu folder. Seems to work...
Sorry for the totally noob question. :)thanks
