Selph Scraper Not Scraping Video
-
Hi all,
I followed the scraping video.
Even though download videos was enabled it only scraped the images and game data.
Went in and used the command line to enable video download as well and no luck.
XML doesn't have a line vide the video file.
I've gone in and deleted the games list and images multiple times, updated the scraper, updated the retropie.
This is the 3 B+.Everything else scrapes properly.
Any suggestions for next steps to trouble shoot? -
@lightthief Which systems are you trying to scrape ? Can you give an example system/ROM that doesn't have the video ?
-
@mitu Thanks for replying.
Just sticking with the basics right now NES and SNES.
Selected them individually.
They take maybe 10min to scrape so I doubt it’s even making the attempt. When I switch to a UI that supports video i just get weird static for every video.
Where should the video directory be?
Would it share the folder with images or be a “video” folder? -

Check the ES settings and switch off OMXPlayer. If you get correct videos, then it means OMXPlayer cannot play them (wrong codec) - but there was a conversion script in the forums that would make the videos compatible with OMXPlayer.
I'm not sure about the location of the videos, but did you check the folders mentioned in the Docs ? -

@clyde To clarify I don’t actuallt see any evidence the videos were scraped in the first place unfortunately.
The files aren’t listed in the gameslist xml and they don’t appear to be stored anywhere. -
@lightthief I just tested the scraper and had no problems getting both videos and boxart + metadata. Make sure you enable Videos when running the scraper and the source is Screenscraper for both Console and Arcade systems.

@mitu Scraper source was my issue. Vids are downloading now. Thanks for helping me resolve.
