Xbox one controller triggers spam
-
Model: Pi 3 b+
Power supply: 5.1V
RetroPie v4.4
Berrybooted
Wired Xbox one controller connected (and HDMI..)
Emulator: Only noticeable on GBA, probably because the others I tried don't use the triggersPrelude to the problem (probably related):
Was mapping the buttons fine until I reached the left trigger, pressing the left trigger made the mapping UI skip some buttons, solved this by using the up and down arrows of a keyboard to navigate back to the missing commands and mapping the correct buttons.Current problem:
Noticed it when trying to play Golden Sun on GBA, all the dialogue bubbles were being instantly auto-skipped, and entering in-game menus with tabs resulted in a constant tab switch fest, the only way to make this stop was to hold both triggers, upon releasing them the spam continued...Also, don't know if its related, but pressing buttons on the controller does nothing for like, a minute after entering a game on any emulator, can't even quit the game, after 1 minute passes the buttons work again.
Thanks for reading, appreciate all the help I can get.

@somguy You'll have to re-install the
xpad
driver from the RetroPie-Setup script. The behavior you're describing means you're using the default (Linux kernel)xpad
driver, which maps the triggers to axes. -
I did what you said and now it works just fine! Thanks!
