Hello! I'd like to emulate Amiga on my retropie system, but before I add Amiga I was wondering if it's possible to play Amiga games without keyboard and mouse, but just using joystick.

      Is it possible?

      thanks

In most cases, I just use a joystick for Amiga emulation. I put together a controller mapping that begins as a simple controller. When the left thumbstick is depressed, that thumbstick then becomes the mouse cursor movement until it's pressed again. When the right thumbstick is pressed, the 'A' and 'B' joystick buttons become the left and right mouse buttons. I separated their activation because it can come in handy to only use one or the other in certain games. When both are depressed, I can navigate the file system just like using an actual mouse. I also have 'Select'+'X' bring up the Amiberry options menu and 'Select'+'Start' exits the program. All in all it works for about 70 to 80 percent of what I want it to, but there's always going to be times when you just need a keyboard and mouse. To do something similar, you'll need an outside mapping solution like xboxdrv, or Linux Joystick Mapper.

            I use Amiberry.

what about amiga textual adventure games?

I'm a big fan of text adventures on any system I can find them. I'm currently working my way through a particularly tricky part of 'The Lurking Horror' that has me stumped. I would definitely consider these types of games as being the best example of needing an actual keyboard. Even if you had something like an onscreen keyboard, it would be murder to use for any amount of time and you'd always have to be moving it around to read the story cues.

I understand. I guess i'll give up on using just the joystick

CD32 games do not need a mouse or keyboard as it was released as a console. These would be your best bet.
