What music do you listen to currently?

@Clyde I thoroughly enjoyed Iron Sky goofiness and silliness. I remember when the movie was just an idea/trailer and it seemed so over the top that it would become a cult classic.
They were planning a sequel and - lo-and-behold - it was just released last month. -

@Clyde - Yes an incredibly dark time but well said and I appreciate you sharing. Text books can only take you so far and then you need to rely on others sharing thoughts and experiences. You can't get a better opinion on the subject than someone that was born and raised in Germany. :)
I'll have to point out though that the vast majority of Germans living today never had to live through theses times. The contemporary witnesses are literally dying out with an ever increasing rate, and the rest of us only know our gruesome heritage from said text books, movies etc.
With this in mind, aside from serious lore, humorous depictions of those times may help to keep the memory alive, lest we forget what human beings are capable of under the
rightwrong circumstances.@mitu Glad you liked Iron Sky. And yes, its sequel just came out. I only thought of it after I wrote my last post, and I didn't want to edit it just for that detail. So, thanks for the addition. 😊
Ah, for @$#&! sake. Although not "music I'm listening to currently", here's the trailer for anyone too lazy to look it up themselves:
-
@Clyde - Part sci-fi...party silly, nuff said, I'm in. It looks like it's on Netflix so I am good to go.
Saddled dinosaurs in part 2 that alone makes it worthy. :)

Some of the best cult classics are just silly nonsense comedic parodies. :)
-
@Clyde - So...Netflix in the US doesn't have Iron Sky as I was going to watch it last night. Searching Google said it did but being searching in Netflix last night it did not. So...I'll have to poke around a bit so I am able to view it. =/ Boo on Netflix. It sounds like a perfect movie for the (my?) International section. I suppose each country has the others movies in the International section. :)
I agree with you on concerts (having a standing area). I don't know if the trends are changing or if it's because these older bands have better response to full seating throughout the whole venue.
It used to be that the stadium seating around the edges was of course seats and the floor right in front of the stage was standing room only.
It might still be that way with younger bands here but I don't know. I haven't been to any concerts in recent years where the band has not been playing for at least 30 or 40 years except Metallica did have standing room only on the floor.
-
@Riverstorm it is included with Amazon Prime if that's an option for you.
-
@Riverstorm Thanks for the answer. Besides, the seating topic was raised in the mame2003-plus backdrops thread. 😉
-
@simpleethat - Amazon Prime is an option. I found it last night, I appreciate the tip. :)
@Clyde - Definitely, I saw it there and answered here. I thought it might be a better fit here since it's related to music. I wasn't sure if UDb23 was ok if we kept chatting about music since he didn't answer your last question. I have terrible thread drift. I may drift for days off topic before I find the mainland again. :)
-
@Riverstorm I concur that it's a liiiitle more fitting (or less off-topic 😉) here than in the backdrops thread.

I owned this game for the TG16 when I was a kid. All the music is chip tunes of Beach Boys hit songs such as "I Get Around," "Fun, Fun, Fun," "California Girls," and "Help Me, Rhonda".

I'm currently like to listen to the music from the YouTube channel Kurzgesagt – In a Nutshell. The channel's team creates short but thoroughly researched animated videos about many topics from science or other aspects of the world we live in.
The music alone is available here:

Youtube: https://bit.ly/2CZ6PeNOne of my all-time favourites is the track from the Dyson Sphere video:

@Clyde Kurzgesagt, one of my favorite channels. :> That's a nice tune and its composed for that channel.
-
I have been YouTubing and watching my old playlists from my 20s partying days. Man I miss those times. This isn't really music, but covers of tv or games.
Piano - Return to Zanarkand :

If you're from the States you'll remember this song : David The Gnome (Don't judge me or him he does AWESOME stuff) -

I'm a fan of both the English and the German versions for many years now. As far as I can tell, they're very accurate but at the same time short and entertaining enough for the average person with today's commonly short attention span. 😉

FFVII Classical Guitar
Ah, that brings back memories … and an urge to play the game again, although it's not very realistic today with less free time and more things that demand a part of it – and considering that I just started my first playthrough of Secret of Mana. 😊
My all-time favorite tune from FFVII was "Those Chosten by the Planet", played when Sephiroth showed up the first time. It still gives me the creeps …
These two are the best Remakes I could find on YouTube. One more orchestral
and one more synthetic on par with the original:

I am currently listen to this guy. He have ton of songs sung in Acapella style, but with multiple layers of recordings from himself. And with some songs, I am shocked how accurate it sounds.

@thelostsoul Wow, that sounds amazing! 👍

@thelostsoul Oh, and I nearly forgot: The cat! The cat! 🤩 Coincidentally, I just tamed my first cat in Minecraft yesterday since we updated our server from 1.13 →1.14 →1.15 a week ago:
-
@Clyde I love cats! (what a surprise) But unfortunately I never played Minecraft and so will not understand how hard or lucky you need to be to tame a cat. I have to admit, he looks so adorable. :-) Did you gave him a name (or her)?
-
@thelostsoul Just a quick answer to that (and apologies to everyone for the off-topic posts): Until Minecraft 1.14, getting cats was very difficult, because you'd have to befriend a wild ocelot with raw fish in one of the jungle biomes; this would turn them into regular house cats (one of MC's many strange laws of nature). But now, cats are a separate species that spawns naturally around procedurally generated villages. They are still shy, but way more trusting than the extremely timid ocelots.
