PokèMon Emerald, Rubin and Sappphire don't boot with gpSP v0.91. All other GBA roms and Leaf Green are working as expected. Searching brings 2 and 3 years old topics up. It seems, the problem is RetroArch related and still not corrected. May are just recommending to change the emulator, but there is a trick to play these games with gpSP. Load that emulator and within it's menu load the game, then it works and game is playable. But clicking the game from EmulationStation does not work.
Is there something I can do, so these games work within EmulationStation without changing the emulator?
Pi Model or other hardware: 3B
Power Supply used: Original Pi PSU
RetroPie Version Used: 4.4.2
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: 2 Buffalo gamepads, 1 Arcade Stick, 1 wireless adapter for keyboard
Emulator: gpSP v0.91
I don't know the full extent of the problem, but it seems like you could create a script that would first launch RetroArch and then after a wait, send a network command to load the game. You could then create a launch command in
/opt/retropie/configs/emulators.cfgthat would launch the script and apply it to the ROM. Granted, this is a very involved solution and there might be a better way. Out of curiosity, why are you opposed to simply launching the games with a core that will run them?
