I was trying to use the Retropie 3.6 menu on my Raspberry Pi3(my power supply is an 5V 5A), installed with berryboot, and this error happened:
      alt text
I tried to do sudo __platform=rpi3 ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh, but the same error happened.

The menu I was saying is this menu:
      alt text

      What should I do?

@inky1003 Stop using BerryBoot and use the official image.

I tried to install Retropie on top of Raspbian, but I didn't understand how to get to emulation station
If you could tell me how do I do this in the terminal...
and I don't know how do I logout from pixel to get to emulationstation, how do I do this?

@inky1003 Just use the official image. BerryBoot is pointless for so many reasons... You can't even update.
Use the official image. Is there a reason why you aren't taking the absolutely easiest route to do this?

@jonnykesh I tried to put RetroPie on top of the raspbian, but as I said, I couldn't get in the emulation station because there are no instructions to get in there in the RetroPie docs. If you could say me how do I do to get in the emulation station from the Raspbian LXDE, please?

@inky1003 If you want RetroPie then just use the official image.
                Any reason why you wouldn't?

You can't run Emulationstation (and the emulators included) and the desktop at the same time - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FAQ/#where-did-the-desktop-go. You can choose to either start Emulationstation or the Desktop - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FAQ/#how-do-i-boot-to-the-desktop-or-kodi.

But, how do I set in the raspbian to boot to the emulation station?

@mitu in the https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FAQ/#how-do-i-boot-to-the-desktop-or-kodi it only says how to do in the retropie, not in the raspbian.

@mitu You are a saint, I wonder sometimes why you bother.

@inky1003 I think you have the wrong perception about RetroPie. RetroPie is not an OS in itself, it sits on top of a full OS, you can install it on an existing Raspbian, or start with the RetroPie image and add additional software later (quoted from the front page). You can use the full Raspbian (desktop) image and install RetroPie on it, or vice-versa - start with the RetroPie image (recommended) and then add the desktop (https://retropie.org.uk/docs/FAQ/#where-did-the-desktop-go).

If you have installed RetroPie on your existing Raspbian image, you can just start the setup script and do the configurations described in the docs - it's not something included just in the RetroPie image.
Btw, 3.6 is such an old release, no wonder the setup script cannot determine the platform you're running (probably due to the newer kernel included)
