How can i change the gamelist language?
-
I'm a chinese retropie(4.4) user. So my roms files named by chinese. But when i copy those roms into my pi.Those roms name in retropie become a lot of "?". just like this:
???2??
?????x2
??
????man
??How can i fix that?
sorry for my bad english -_- -
@bob023 Can you give an example of some ROM names with Chinese file names ?
-
@bob023 unfortunately the theme defines the font. Since all themes right now are using Latin script fonts, Chinese characters will not work. And also, you can’t mix and match fonts in a theme. You can make a Chinese theme, but then Latin characters will not work.

Are you sure ? Why wouldn't they work ? I mean there are fontsets with UTF-8 coverage the could accommodate both charsets.
-
@mitu if there is, it should work. Just most font sets don’t have both languages. It still up to the theme designer to use such fonts.
-
@lostless Well, I guess it's time for some experiments...
-
@mitu have fun with that. 😉 lol
-
Well, it works :).
image url)@bob023 Let me know if you're still pursuing this and I'll describe how you can modify the theme to get both CJK/Latin glyphs shown.

wow!thanks all you guys! I fixed this problem.i used those command:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install fonts-droid-fallback
sudo rebootand i changed theme‘s font file to chinese font.
ps: If you rom file name not enghish,DO NOT use usbway to copy roms.Because the rom name will be like that:“????”no matter what you do.
