What I've been working on for the last year....Official licensed Mega Drive Scale Model
-
Hi
Last year I came here asking for RetroPie user numbers because of a business idea I was working on. Some people were rightly sceptical that I was probably just a ROM seller or something. Anyway, I just wanted to come back, say thanks to the people who helped me out and to show what I've been working on!
Basically it's an officially licensed, highly detailed, model of the Mega Drive. Should be launching in December and although it's not a Pi case as such, I'm pretty sure some enthusiastic modders out there could work wonders.
These are the prototypes. The production models will look MUCH better.
There's more details here if anyone is interested...
Anyway, thanks again.

@slikvik Congrats for your product. As you seem to aim modders here in the forum ;)
May you can post a photo of the internals? Can you tell something about the material this is made? Are the switches moveable? Last but not least... tell us the pricing? -
@slikvik looks fantastic! No mention on your page, will there be a North American Genesis release or are you sticking to just Mega Drive?
-
Hi,
I'll see if I can get some internal shots together but I'd personally prefer to wait for the production units as they'll be injection moulded. Should be pretty close to the prototypes though.
This model will be priced at £34.99.
Volume, power and cartridge mechanism all work. Spare cartridges should also be available.
Yes, we do have plans for both the Genesis and Japan Mega Drive. We're all prepped for it but need to get this one off the ground first. I hope you understand. I don't want to spread myself too thin and let people down. Other consoles (and home computers) across manufacturers are currently at the planning stages.

are there other models that you are planing on making, may i ask?
-
@exarkuniv We absolutely are, but unfortunately that's all I can say at the moment and we need to make sure this one is a success first! :D
-

Don't be so sure. ;-)

This is pretty cool. I bet this would look good on my nightstand.
If the prototype looks like this, man, I bet the finished product would look like a piece of art. Good job, man! -
As beautiful as it looks, everyone around here already has their eyes closed and is thinking about cutting it open to put a Raspi in there... ;-)
It looks stunning, good luck with putting it on the market and i'm curious to see what will be next.

whilst i will do that for my spare board i shall have a second model for my game room it has a display cabinate that needs filling up :D
