#Bluetooth speaker audio and wi-fi
-
Hello,
I ´ve a done a fresh install of the latest retropie on my RPI3 on a mSD card (32 GB).
I ´m struggling with 2 things, i can´t turn on wi fi ,it drive me to location menu of raspbi config, choose region, keyboard, city (lisbon ,Portugal, europe) , but it doesn´t show my network , or find it. On raspbian Jessie was too easy, i didn´t have to perform the steps of location...
I was trying to install additional packages as Amiberry, but i could only do it with the RJ45 cable connected...I have a Punker VTIN bluetooth speaker, on Retropie menu, when i go to the bluetooth section, i ´m unable to connect it... It doesn´t show the speaker...
I thought with Raspbian stretch version , it was easy to do that...
Could you help me?

@ccouteiro Please provide more information about your system as requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
The country setup for Wifi is not mandatory, unless if you're running a 3B+ model, but you are not. Before scanning for networks, run
sudo rfkill unblock all
and search again. For the BT part, the script included in RetroPie is geared for gamepads/input devices and it might not work for other Bluetooth enabled peripherals. You should try manually pairing them using
bluetoothctl
from the command line. -
I ´m using retropie 4.4 , and all the time i try to connect wi fi a pop up message appears and advise me to first introduce location, language, etc... On Raspbian config menu... I bought the RPI3 last year, January 2017...
I´m newbie , i just have to go to command line from retropie menu, and write sudo rfkill unblock all?

Yes, press
F4
when you're in Emulationstation to exit and you'll be left at the command line, where you can execute the command. After that, runemulationstation
and you'll be back in Emulationstation again, where you can go and try to configure the Wifi. -
For bluetooth i type bluetoothctl , and next my speaker shoud be listed?
-
@ccouteiro Have a look here on how to use bluetoothctl.
-
Now i have another problem, the keyboard is totally deconfigured, on command line when i press "p" or other keys gaves me differents keys from the ones i push....
-
@ccouteiro It sounds like you have turned on the "NumLock" key.
-
Numlock key? What you mean ?
I can write whatever i want ,but i have to find the "right " keys...
I f push the "t" gave me an "u" , if i push "g" gave a "c", and so on...

@ccouteiro Looks like a mis-configured keyboard layout. Use
raspi-config
and change your keyboard layout, changing it to US. You can do so from theLocalisation options
in the configuration utility - https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/raspi-config.md#change-locale. -
Keyboard problem solved.
Bluetooth audio not solved but i found another way , my speaker have 3,5 mm aux
Wi fi now shows the network but unable to connect
-
@ccouteiro Try using the alternate method described in the docs - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Wifi/#connecting-to-wifi-without-a-keyboard. This way you'll be sure which password you're typing.
