Turbografx CD / PC Engine CD emulator support question
-
Has anybody ever tested out CHD files for lr-beetle-pce-fast? I was wondering how successful these were overall and if you'd still need a lot of BIN/CUE images to use with lr-beetle-supergrafx as a backup.
Also, does anybody know what the support for these is like on a Pi Zero? I tested all the CD games in BIN/CUE format a long time ago on the Pi Zero and except for 2 Unlicensed games I got 100% compatibility in that format.
Thanks!!!

@used2berx CHD works fine on beetle-pce-fast and genesis-plus-gx for segacd. I haven't tested beetle-supergrafx.
The CHD format support is limited by the emulator, not the pi.

I didn't mean the support by the Pi version, but the performance. I've been working with emulators for going on 20 years now. I've heard an answer from a source that I trust that there shouldn't be any issues running CHD files on a Pi Zero, but they're not going to work so well on the SegaCD with a Pi Zero. Bummer. If I find out otherwise I'll update this thread.

Why is that ?

@mitu I think it's from the limited specs of the Pi Zero. I was actually really surprised that both CD based systems even worked on a Pi Zero in the first place. Somebody told me that they tried CHD files for both emulators on a Pi Zero and the Sega CD didn't perform well. Essentially a CHD File is a modified 7zip archive, so I'm not really surprised. I will eventually test it myself and update this thread when I know.
